Camp

                    ๐ŸดLakes Ranch Camp๐ŸŽ
When we got to camp we had lunch and set up our rooms I was in room A9!

Rotation 1

Mud run. The mud run was so fun.It was the activity I was most looking forward to. But I did end up getting heaps of scratches and bruises from the pieces of wood sticking up in the water just out of sight. We finished 15 minutes early so went on another course YAY!!

Rotation 2

Horse Riding I'm going to be honest I was not looking forward to this but I ended up riding Boogy and getting led. It was super fun!!!

Rotation 3

Kayaking I really enjoyed kayaking I had an awesome time I must say though I wasn't very good at it I kept going one way then the other never straight though!!But it was super fun!!

Rotation 4

Rock climbing. I was really nervous for rock climbing and when it was my turn I got halfway but couldn't get up further. The man pulled me down he asked if I wanted to try again so I said yes and got a tiny bit higher up but wanted to come down but on the way down I bashed my knee and got a super bad bruise!!

After that we had free time so me and my friends practiced singing Wings, the song we were doing for the talent show then we had dinner which was lasagna then we had apple crumble with vanilla ice-cream!

After that it was the talent show. Most of the people in our group wanted me to do their parts or help them. We did the intro bit together and then I did my part ,which got a lot of cheering. Our song got cut short unfortunately but we all did really well and it was super fun!!After that we chilled by the camp fire sang songs and roasted marshmallows. Then we went back to our cabins and went to sleep!

THE NEXT DAY.......

When we got up we went to breakfast I had Weetbix it was good! Then we made our lunches for the day!

Rotation 5
Scavenger hunt
When we started the scavenger hunt I was not looking forward to it It got really boring really fast collecting things then putting them in a bag!๐Ÿ˜

Team building exercises
Just between our rotations we did some pretty cool things first we got four chairs and set them up then we lied on each other and took the chairs out. We supported each others' weight. It was really fun! Then we did one when we stood in a circle and all sat on each other. If one person fell we all did!

Rotation 6
Raft Building
I was so excited about raft building. First I had to untie the rope from the net and then we started to build it. We had to keep trying and then eventually we got it perfect. Ours was built out of 3 big blue barrels and some ropes as well as 2 sticks of bamboo! I helped push it onto the lake but when it came mine and Te Marama's turn, just after we got out onto the water, the raft flipped and I got sucked under it. It hit my elbow. Also I am not allowed to get water in my ears so that was a problem but we both got out safely and we continued pushing the raft out and helped dismantle the raft. It was super fun!

Rotation 7
Slug gun shooting
When we got to slug gun shooting I was really tired and all we did was shoot bags, cans and boxes. Very boring for me anyway!

Rotation 8
Orienteering
I am going to be honest this activity was really boring! We learned how to use a compass, then we had to walk to the end of the field with our eyes closed. Everyone went to the other end of the field I went side ways and round in circles!

After rotation 8 we had free time and I just chilled out in my room. After free time I did the tough guy challenge - it was super fun!! There was heaps of mud and obstacles which I really enjoyed. Then we had a rinse off. After that we went to the hot pools and had heaps of fun. Mr Gemmell got thrown into the pool - it was soooo funny๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜Ž.Then we had dinner. We had Mac and cheese, then jelly and vanilla ice-cream! Yum!!! After dinner we had to wait for it to get dark then we went on the Burma trail and we got scared by the parents. We did a glow worm walk too and then we had supper. I had some baking and a Milo!

SLEEP

The next day we got up and had breakfast. I had two Weetbix and a piece of toast! Then we made our lunches for the day. After that we had a massive clean up then left to go to Kerosene Creek, the natural hot pools, which was a really fun 20 minute drive singing, dancing and listening to music! At Kerosene Creek it was really fun we stood under the waterfall and I did some singing. Then we had lunch and left for home. We played games and took photos of ourselves with Amy's phone and listened to music as well as waving to our friends in the passing cars. I'm going to be honest, I think we all went to sleep once or twice too!! When we got back to school we listened to some music from a car radio!!   Well, there you have it - that was my 2017 camp experience๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜By Emily Brown.

Intro
Imagine this, you wake up in the morning and all the bees are buzzing, the birds are chirping, everything's great! You wake up the next morning and everything's great or so you think. when you open the window there are no bees buzzin, no birds chirping and all the trees have been cut downIf you don't want this to happen I can tell you why it's happening and help you to prevent it from happening. bees going extinct will lead to higher food prices and the loss of animal and flower lives. How sad is that?

P.1
If bees disappeared there would be a massive decrease in our food supply. Not only are bees awesome pollinators they also help the growth of the cocoa bean one of the main ingredients in chocolate. so no bees way less chocolate. They are amazing pollinators they also pollinate 70 out of a 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world thats some good work for those tiny pollinators.Honey bees are responsible for $30billion dollars a year  in crops. So a world without bees would struggle to feed a population of over 7 billion. Our supermarkets would also lose half of the amount of food they have now.So that means much higher prices that some families could struggle to afford and no one wants that to happen.

P.2
My second point is that if bees disappeared Animals and flowers would suffer. If bees vanished we could lose a lot of different flower species that bees pollinate as well as the animals that eat those flowers seeds and so on up the food chain. The USA’s commercial honey bee population has lost 40% percent of the bees. The UK has suffered a 45% loss.If bees went extinct it would have a massive effect on wild flowers and animal life.Approximately 250,00 species of flowering plants depend on bees to help them pollinate. Some of the reasons were losing bees fast is the sad loss of  flower meadows and the horrible varaomite that feasts on their blood,as well as climate change and use of pesticides.Honey bee colonies in the USA have been shown to disappear overnight leaving the queen and mother of the hive to starve to death.
er

P.3
Heres How you can help.Make sure your honey comes from beekeepers who care about the bees health not just the produce. You can also help by eating organically and not spraying chemicals on your flowers.Try and buy flowers that bloom for as long as possible and remember bees like herbs too, not just flowers! Here are some flowers and herbs that you can plant in your garden that bees will love, like:lavender, sage, tomatoes, rosemary, pumpkins, passion fruit vines and sunflowers. Also remember that bees are attracted to the colors blue,

Conclusion
So now that you know terrible things will happen if bees dissaper I would step up my game.DO YOU REALLY THINK YOUR DOING ENOUGH!!!!!
